Book description
The oak tree depicted on the cover of "The Pennywhistle Tree" is based on the grand old live oak on the corner of Dartmouth and Amherst Streets in Brunswick, Georgia, where Mom wrote the book. My siblings and I used to climb it, and a pear tree, in our back yard, for many years. If you "Google" this address: 1400 Dartmouth Street, Brunswick, Georgia, you'll see the oak is still standing!
