The Shadows Between Us ♦ Tricia Levenseller | Review

It was incredibly fun reading The Shadows Between Us. The book captured my attention from the very first page and retained it throughout the entire work of fantasy.
I often wonder what it is about the infatuation between two morally dubious, murderous individuals that I am utterly addicted to, that I hardly could stop reading to do some chores.

Initial thoughts:

- i physically rolled my eyes while reading this.
- this book is almost entirely exposition. Everything is told, and yet somehow we barely learn anything about their world.
- the heroine was incredibly annoying with no redeeming qualities. She constantly reminds the reader and all the other characters how deadly she is, how many people she's killed - she's really just a ✨badass✨. The other half of the time she's complaining about how boring it is pretending to be a captive, how "pirates are gross and they stink… (more)

They would call it abuse if Riden beat Alosa up. Why is it alright for her to beat him up?

Second part sees Alosa's secret Siren self revealed to all and her falling more under its spell. Only Riden can keep her from losing herself completely. Will they beat her horrible father to the treasure or fall victim to the clutches of the ruthless sirens who guard it? Great sequel and ending to the story. Wonderful romance story that the girls at my school will adore.
