Pogo: We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us by Walt Kelly
I read Pogo in the "Twin Falls Times News" when I was too young to understand the politics, but it slowly became clear as I grew up.
Kelly's draughtsmanship and calligraphy are always a treat, but I can find his writing to be a bit tedious and slow. The Pogo books tend to be a mixed bag, and this one is no exception.
Not Kelly at his best, I think. Very, very wordy, though of course the draughtsmanship is very fine.
Never was a big fan of Pogo, but this isn't a bad collection.
